This is currently the latest book on Maven out there, as far as I'm aware. The book is well-written. The teaching approach is such that it doesn't give you too much information, but instead depicts a problem and then an immediate solution illustrated in a brief example.
In my opinion it's a bit raw in the fact that at certain times it feels like you're following somebody else's notes on how they learned Maven. O I was contacted by a representative of Packt Publishing and asked to review this book.
On the other hand, if you're an absolute beginner with Maven and have little time to read enough about it to become thoroughly acquainted with it's inner workings, this book will get you rolling in no time. A lot of people need to get started quickly with a new technology while they're already working on a project and have little time to learn all of the nuts and bolts of the technology. This book would be an excellent place to start for them. The book covers Maven 2 and 3, as well as POM files, invoking plugins, configuring settings.
All in all, this is a good book on Maven containing common problems explained in a very concise manner. If you're not looking to become an expert on Maven, this book will be great for you. Sep 14, Mutaz Hussein rated it really liked it.
